Looking constantly on a clock is the last thing you would want to do while working on a project, but someone has to keep track of the time if you wish to bill your clients accurately. This is where Kapow comes in. It can keep track of your work hours for you and it can generate detailed reports, which include hourly rates. The application is absolutely free and you can have it up and running in no time, on all major platforms.

Keeping track of work hours is a simple operation. Kapow is designed to work as a punch clock, which means that it is sufficient to hit a Start button when you begin your work and a Stop button when you are done. The application will record the elapsed time between these moments. Additionally, you may create new projects, just by naming them and keep track of your tasks for each of them separately.

Created projects are listed on the left side of Kapow's clean and simple interface and their corresponding tasks are listed in the larger area on the right. Just like projects, tasks can be named as well, before hitting the Start button. Each task is listed with its start and end times and you can also find the total number of work hours beneath the list. If you make a mistake, you can edit any entry easily or even create new ones.

Besides timing your tasks, the application can also calculate how much you should bill your clients. The information is included in a report, which can be printed or exported. The calculations are made automatically, based on a user-defined hourly rate and tax rate.
